Executive presence Training

Executive presence training

Executive presence training can cover a very large area, from public speaking to office politics to adding a human touch to messages. One area that is often overlooked is a person’s outward appearance, and this could be holding you back from really achieving your goals.

Your outward appearance is what people judge you on, even before you open your mouth, and this judgment is instinctual and instantaneous and could be very long lasting especially if it is negative. The things you are judged on could include your dress, your grooming, and even the little things like body odour and bad breath right down to details such as the cufflinks you are wearing.

Take for example a client I had recently, he was constantly being overlooked for promotion, yet he showed superior results than the people who were promoted above him. It turned out that he always wore low contrasting suits that didn't fit well, his grooming wasn't the best and he often smelled of body odour.

Executive presence starts with the way you dress. When you are impeccably groomed and your suits and shirts fit you well, it immediately gives you a sense of pride in yourself, you start standing up straighter and taking pride in your posture. You will notice the respect that people give you, and it will give you the confidence to stand out and be heard. Dress like this day in and day out and people start to change their opinion of you, new people you meet will give you immediate respect, and you won’t be on the back foot trying to prove yourself all of the time.

Annalisa Armitage always used her image to the greatest effect. Being 6ft tall, with chiselled features she could have easily played down her hieght and softened her looks, instead, she stood up tall, put on high heels to make her height even more noticeable and donned a suit and tie. She grew her hair down to her back-side and made sure she stood out from the crowd. Her presence had immediate effect, she earned respect among her peers and was inspirational in starting the Australian Association of Six Sigma Practitioners.

Annalisa now helps others to turn their image into their greatest asset, not only teaching them to dress and groom themselves immaculately, but also to create a brand, one aspect of the way they dress that stands them apart, something that other people can identify you by. In Annalisa's case it may have been her long hair, or the very colourful ties she wore.

Annalisa can also help you with body language, public speaking and how to run effective and efficient meetings.
